Thomas Grenier Wins the Inaugural Notah Begay Elite Tournament
On the evening of August 5th at 7:00pm EST, a player was crowned champion at the first ever Notah Begay III Elite WAGR ranked event. Thomas Grenier from Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada fired an impressive 3-day total of 205 (-5) to claim the PGA Tour of America Event Exemption. A week before the tournament, Thomas was carrying a lot of momentum with his game by shooting an opening round 62 at Golf Canada's 120th Canadian Men's Amateur Championship. The remaining rounds didn't go the way Grenier hoped for but it left him with a sign of confidence and revenge heading into the NB3 Elite tournament.
Grenier picked up right where he left off, firing an opening round 66 (-4) to be the leader after day 1 and he never looked back. He followed up round one with scores of 67-72, leading wire-to-wire to become the inaugural winner of the NB3 Elite tournament. In an interview before his final round when asked about the event, Thomas said, "It would be very great! This tournament has a lot of opportunity, so to win this tournament it would be very nice." and he accomplished his goal.
The NB3 Elite tournament was held at Kanawaki Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on August 3-5, 2025. The event was in partnership with Golf Quebec, which made them the main officiators of the tournament. The field was composed of 40 junior boys from across the world. Eight different countries were represented making this an International junior event in Canada. It was the first of it's kind, receiving a power of 51.1674 from the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) making it the second highest ranked junior event in Canada. Notah said "We are extremely excited with what we build in year one of the NB3 Elite tournament and are looking forward to future to continue build upon what we have." The NB3 Elite will be returning to Canada on August 2-4, 2026 to be played at Golf Griffon des Source in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada.
